New Delhi, 6th July 2015

As part of the French Tech initiative, France officially launched in June 2015 the “Paris French Tech Ticket” to welcome foreign entrepreneurs who wish to launch or develop their ambitious entrepreneurial project in Paris.

Applications are now open till 15th September 2015. Only the 500 first ones from all over the World will be taken into consideration for this first batch.

This program is designed for non-French entrepreneurs from all around the world to set up a technology-related (digital, cleantech, medtech, biotech…) startup in France. All the foreign entrepreneurs are eligible, even if they are already based in France – finishing their studies, for instance. Teams of up to three founders are eligible, and can include up to one French member.

This program, which will be held in English, includes a stipend of 12,500€ per founding member over six months (renewable at the end of the program), a fast-track procedure to obtain a French residence permit, free work space in a partner incubator in the heart of Paris, a mentoring program and help to relocate to the French capital.

50 entrepreneurs are expected for the first 6-month session in Paris.

A first trial run of the program will hence be launched in Paris from September 2015 onwards:

June 2015 : launch of the online platform for project applications;
The applications will close on 15 September 2015;
December 2015 : laureates announced;
January 2016: first laureates arrive in France.

“Paris French Tech Ticket” is a pilot session, leading the way to a larger “French Tech Ticket” program encompassing all the 18 French Tech Metropoles from 2016 onwards.

French Tech Ticket

The “French Tech Ticket” is one of the numerous initiatives taken in the frame of the “French Tech” program, announced in 2013, designed for federating the various stakeholders working for or with French startups in France or abroad and aiming at fostering the startup ecosystem in France through various specific schemes.

Teeming with innovation hubs and talents energized by an entrepreneurial mindset, France welcomes startups and fosters their development. As a force for value and job creation, startups are bound to become more global, as they bring talents and investors from all around the globe to France.

With over 40 incubators (with the largest one in the World -La Halle Freyssinet- to be due in 2016 with over 108,000 sq. ft.), 80 coworking spaces, 20 fablabs, almost 1500 new start-ups created each year and a multiplication of success stories, Paris shows an exceptional dynamism, which is acknowledged in international rankings.

Other initiatives to promote the “French Tech” program in India and to foster partnerships between the French and Indian technology-related business ecosystems will be initiated with Indian stakeholders, such as a “French Tech Tour in India” in 2016 which shall be coordinated by Business France.
