The decision to create I-FTA was taken in 1965 at a meeting of engineers & technologists who were trained in France under the aegis of ASTEF (Association pour l’organisation des Stages en France) which later became ACTIM, Cfme-Actim and then UBIFrance. The Association was formally registered on February 18, 1966 at Mumbai.
