Keolis to be the future operator of the metro rail in Hyderabad
Larsen and Toubro Metro Rail, Indian leader in engineering and construction, has awarded Keolis the contract for operating and maintaining the upcoming metro in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.
The eight-year contract, which may be extended by three years, will generate a turnover of 300 million euros. Around 1.5 million passengers are expected to travel by metro rail daily, Hyderabad having a population of 9 million inhabitants.
Completely automated, the aerial metro will offer a 71-km network with three lines and 66 stations. Fifty-seven coaches will be deployed. This will be the largest public-private partnership metro rail network at the global level.
