2012 Nobel Prize in Physics for Serge HAROCHE
Press Release – President’s Office
I congratulate Serge Haroche for the Nobel prize awarded to him.
A distinguished specialist of quantum optics, who works at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory in Paris, has thus been rewarded.
Serge Haroche has been able to combine strong theoretical reflection with remarkable experiments in all the French and foreign institutions where he has worked : CNRS, Pierre and Marie Curie University, Ecole Normale Surpérieure, Ecole Polytechnique, and Collège de France, where he has been working as administrator since the past few months.
This is a moment of pride for our country. And a great satisfaction for French research as a whole.
