French National Day : 14 July 2014

Mr. Eric Lavertu, Consul General of France, hosted a reception on the occasion of the French National Day for associates and partners working in close collaboration with France. Indian and foreign dignitaries, alike, came together to celebrate this day.

The event was held at hotel Novotel Bengaluru Techpark. Société Générale, celebrating its 150th anniversary, co-sponsored the event with the Accor Group.

14th July, observed as the National Day of France, commemorates the storming of the Bastille fortress on this day in 1789, an event heralding the French Revolution. It is celebrated in France each year with major public events, including a military parade in the Champs-Elysées opened by the French President, communal meals, and fireworks.
