Business France, the Trade & Investment Commission of France in India, organized, with several stakeholders and partners, the third edition of the “French Tech Tour to India”, a multi-purpose and multi-format platform in the cities of Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai & Delhi NCR from the 30th September to 6th of October 2018.
The “French Tech Tour to India 2018” consisted of an immersive mission to India for 6 innovative “French Tech” startups and SMEs. These companies met the Indian start-ups, investors, partners and clients as well as had pitch sessions that aimed to help them increase their visibility in India. This was followed by a networking cocktail in New Delhi. In addition, H.E, Mr. Alexandre Ziegler, French Ambassador to India felicitated 3 companies in a special award function in the categories of ‘French Tech Tour to India 2018 Grand Prix’, ‘Most Innovative Technology’ and ‘Most Promising Business Potential in India’. The first two editions witnessed tremendous success and recorded a footfall of more than 400 participants in each city.
With the French President, Emmanuel Macron opening the doors for Indian entrepreneurs, France is focusing on technology and wants to further develop strong partnerships with the Indian start-ups ecosystems. Therefore, the “French Tech Tour to India 2018” also included mentoring session with the experts from Business France to guide the companies on how to enter the Indian market.
“India and France are both start-up nations with a strong innovative culture and both countries should work closer to develop synergies and opportunities between their respective ecosystems” said Jean-Francois Ambrosio, Head of I.T and Services Department for Business France in India.
In the years to come, Business France looks forward to take these initiatives to a greater scale. The French Tech initiative fits in with the goals and objectives of the “Startup India” and “Digital India” initiatives by the Government of India and aims to work more in this sector.
