Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society Delegation travels to India on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2008

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2008, the Embassy of France in India is pleased to announce the upcoming visit to India of a delegation from the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society (WEFCOS), from 14th to 18th March, 2008.

In preparation of the 4th edition of the Annual Global Women’s Forum, to be held on 16th - 18th October 2008, in Deauville, France,

Ms Aude Zieseniss de Thuin, Founder and CEO of the Women’s Forum,
Ms Christine Ockrent, renowned journalist and writer,
Ms Olivia Fauquenot, Project Manager of the Women’s Forum,

will travel to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore to meet Indian women and men leaders from the business world, the political arena, the social network and the media.

Founded in 2005 by Aude Zieseniss de Thuin, the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society aims to promote women’s vision on key social and economic issues of our era. Ranked among the 5 most influential fora
by the Financial Times in 2007, this initiative of, for, and by women has become an international must-attend event in just three years.

Ms Aude Zieseniss de Thuin has always been at the forefront of progress and social trends, working towards the promotion of talented women. Prior to founding the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, she launched various events and shows.

Ms Christine Ockrent has had an outstanding career in television, both as producer of documentaries and anchor of the evening news, for which she created her own presentation style as the first woman news anchor and editor in France.

She was the producer and anchor of the weekly current-affairs program “France Europe Express” on “France 3” public television channel. She has been recently appointed as the director general of the new holding France Monde.
