Visit of the French trade body MEDEF International, along with the French Ambassador to Hyderabad

A delegation of 22 French firms under the French trade body MEDEF International visited India for 5 days (3 days in Delhi and 2 in Hyderabad). All enterprises undertook activities that would support sustainable development of fast-growing cities.
In Hyderabad, the French delegation was led by H.E.Mr. Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India, and Mr. Paul Hermelin, Chairman of the India Committee of the trade association and met government authorities as well as private entities in order to gauge the needs of the city of Nizams. Mr. K T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, IT, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, government of Telangana, first met them during the Schneider electric inauguration event hosted in the morning.

The visits for the delegation began on September 29 with an understanding of the GMR Airports growth story and the growing number of passengers and cargo handled by the firm. This is the only airport operator that has included MRO services to airlines. In the vicinity - GMR Industrial Park - are located the factories of Safran. Their presentation and factory tour underlined why they chose Telangana for their production units.
The first government official to welcome the french firms was Mr. K T Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, IT, Municipal Administration and Urban Development. He showcased the reasons why the state topped in ease of doing business and many examples were present around the table.
The next stop was T-Hub 2.0 which was lit in the French flag’s tricolour to welcome the guests and explained it would house start-ups form the state and help incubate these in various fields - prototyping, animation, gaming, to name a few.
Day 1 concluded with a reception hosted b the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry to celebrate the opening of a new Hyderabad chapter of the Chamber.

The next day, first two meetings with authorities of TSIIC and MA&UD have an insight into industrial corridors for investments and the transport and urban development challenges to be met with various projects in the pipeline.
A trip in the Hyderabad metro, operated by French firm Keolis along with L&T, as well as the expansion plans brought the day to a close.
The delegation seemed very involved in all the sessions proving a great interest in returning to the state with concrete industrial plans.
