Presentation of the Indo-French satellite model, Megha-Tropiques

Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, arrived in Bangalore with his wife Mrs. Carla Sarkozy on 4th December 2010 for a 4-day working visit to India in order to enhance the bilateral relations between both countries namely in the fields related to economy, science, education and defence.

On this occasion, the French President visited the Indian Satellite Research Organisation (ISRO) to show his support for the Indo-French scientific ties in the space sector. In October 2011 we witnessed the launch of the Megha-Tropique satellite that studies atmospheric flux in order to better understand the climate.

Mrs. Valérie Pécresse, Minister for Higher Education and Research, accompanying the delegation, inaugurated the new office of the Consulate General of France in Bangalore.

The President and his delegation also visited Delhi and Mumbai.
