Visit of the French Ambassador to Hyderabad
H.E. Mr. Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, paid a visit to Hyderabad on the occasion of the UMI-CODATU Conference and seized this opportunity to reinforce the Indo-French collaborations between France and Bordeaux’s twin-sister city Hyderabad.
On his visit to the city of Hyderabad, H.E. Mr. Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, addressed the audience of industrialists as a keynote speaker at the UMI-CODATU Conference on urban mobility.
He also visited the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Bus Bhavan where he alongside Mr. P Mahender Reddy, Minister of Transport, he launched Lumiplan solar input terminals and solar powered display panels.
Further, in order to implement smart transportation pilot project in Hyderabad, the TSRTC conducted a meeting with French Ambassador Alexandre Ziegler and his team. A Memorandum of Understanding was entered into with implementing agency Ixxi S.A.S.U. on experimental basis. The main objective of the project is to study and demonstrate on the field the usage of innovative solutions for a better public transport in Hyderabad.
Again in the field of public transport, French companies Keolis and Thales are involved in the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of this month. The French Ambassador had the opportunity to take a short metro ride and to felicitate HMRL for their work.
To underline the Indo-French cultural relations, Ambassador Ziegler inaugurated Mrs. Sujata Bajaj’s exhibition titled Ganapati at Kalakriti Art Gallery.
At the Alliance française de Hyderabad, he was welcomed by the Director, the committee members and the staff of the institution including the Campus France representative. The French Ambassador and the President of the Alliance française de Hyderabad, Mrs. Daphne De Rebello, inaugurated the new installation of solar panels on the rooftop of the institution and addressed all those present on enhancing Indo-French cooperation.
