Visit of JSW’s Inspire Institute of Sports in Vijayanagara

Inaugurated in August 2018 in Vijayanagara, North Karnataka, Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS) is a sporting project of the JSW Foundation and the steel conglomerate JSW.

This Corporate Social Responsibility unit is financed by donors and has the objective of training the future elite sporstmen of India. Of course, the aim is to also use sports as a vector of social development for the organisation.
JSW Foundation would like to train the best Indian sportsmen for international competitions such as the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

Over 150 athletes aged between 13 and 26 years are currently hosted by the institute. IIS concentrates currently on fours disciplines: athletics (100, 200 et 400 m sprints, long jump, high jump and triple jumb), wrestling, boxing, and judo. Swimming will be added to the list shortly, an olympic-size pool is under construction.

Mr. Rushdee Warley, CEO of Inspire Institute of Sports very graciously presented the infrastructure and facilities at the Vijaynagar campus to the French Consul General and Trade Commissioner.
