Visit of Air Chief Marshal André Lanata in India [fr]
Air Chief Marshal André Lanata, Chief of the French Air Force Staff, is currently on a visit to India (5-8 February 2018) at the invitation of his counterpart in the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa.
New Delhi, 5 to 8 February 2018
Air Chief Marshal Lanata’s visit began at India Gate to lay a wreath in the memory of Indian soldiers who had fallen in battle in France during World War I. He was received thereafter at the IAF Headquarters by Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa, followed by meetings with Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra, and General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff, India.
“The excellence of these meetings reaffirmed the close and longstanding ties between the Indian and French armed forces with regard to inter-services cooperation and sharing operational experiences,” said Ambassador Alexandre Ziegler.
The Chief of the Staff of French Air Force, General André Lanata, while on a good will visit to India, flew a sortie in ’Made in India’ - LCA Tejas Aircraft at AF Station Jodhpur on 7 February 2018.
