The Mumbai International Film Fetival closed on a successful note
The Mumbai International Film Festival took place from 14th to 21st October. This is counted among the most important event in India for the film industry.
Catherine Deneuve received ‘the lifetime achievement’ award presented by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during the opening ceremony of this festival along with the yesteryear dancing sensation of Hindi cinema, Helen.
Catherine Deneuve also held a “master-class” with the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone for around 400 people.
This year around 200 films were screened of which 25 were French.
For the second consecutive year, the Festival ended with a prize for a French film ‘Fever’ of Raphaël Neal. The actor Martin Loizillon received the ‘best actor’ award.
This edition of the Festival also saw a special corner for the ‘remake’ market organized for the professionals in this field. Hence special screenings were held only for them to explore the options. This new element that was well-received, could henceforth become a part of the programme.
