Studying in France: Campus France 2014 Winter Admission Tour

The Embassy of France in India and Campus France India (the French national agency for higher studies in France) are pleased to announce the 2014 Winter Admission Tour in India.

This large-scale event will allow hundreds of Indian students from all fields to meet with more than 20 top French B-Schools, Engineering schools, and arts and hospitality institutes, in 4 metro-cities across India: New Delhi (1 Feb), Kolkata (4 Feb), Hyderabad (6 Feb) and Mumbai (8 Feb).

Students are invited to register here: and book their 20-minute individual interviews with the institutes. Registration is free and all are welcome.

Students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with recruitment officers from top French institutions. Indian alumni will share their experience of studying in France. Visa officers from the French Consulate will explain visa application guidelines. Students will also learn about the different scholarships and support schemes (such as housing assistance) they may be eligible for.

France offers more than 800 Masters’ programmes taught in English, in all fields. UNESCO now ranks France as the 3rd destination for international students in the world, after Britain and the US. In December 2013, Paris was also voted, for the second year in a row, best student city by the QS team. Small class sizes, great research facilities and easy access to world-renowned academics were major factors - not to mention affordable tuition fees and the justly celebrated French quality of living.

The Indian student community has been growing fast in France, as thousands of students from India now choose to study there every year. The country is keen to welcome more Indian students. To encourage this trend, the Ambassador of France to India, H.E. Mr François Richier, decided on Bastille Day (14th July) 2013 to grant 5-year short-stay visas to all Indian alumni of French institutes (past, present and future students, upon graduation) who hold a master’s or any post-graduate degree. Graduates also have the opportunity to stay on in France for up to a year after completion of their course, to find employment there.

In India as well there are many openings for Indian alumni with French degrees. More than 700 French companies have set up operations in India and are constantly on the lookout for young talent. Indian students who obtained a post-graduate degree in France can seek assistance in finding the companies most suitable for their qualifications and talents, via the India-France Job Opportunities Board, a network connecting alumni and French companies and their subsidiaries in India.
