Screening of “Befikre”, first Bollywood film shot entirely in France
The Consul General, Mr. Damien Syed, and his French colleagues, including the deputy-consul Mr. Olivier Cassin, and the director of Alliance française du Bengale, Mr. Stéphane Amalir, attended on 11 December a special screening of Befrikre, film directed by Aditya Chopra, featuring the actors Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor. The showing was organized by Atout France (France tourism development agency) and the travel agency Vayu Seva at the Inox cinema of Forum in Kolkata. The film was released worldwide on 9 December 2016.
Befikre is the first Bollywood film shot entirely in France: in the timeless capital Paris, in Cannes , on the glamourous beaches of the French Riviera, and in the castles of Picardy. The film celebrates the carefree joys of love and life but it is also a tribute to the landscapes of France, its monuments, its freedom, its “art de vivre”, gastronomy and fashion.
France is an ideal Bollywood partner. The production of Befikre received an extensive support from the French Embassy in India and facilitation from several French organisations.
