Embassy of France in India and EDHEC hosted pre-departure party for Indian students joining EDHEC in the fall.
New Delhi, 05 July 2016
The Embassy of France in India, through Institut français en Inde (IFI) / Campus France, and EDHEC Business School hosted a pre-departure ceremony for over 30 Indian students traveling to France to study at this outstanding institution, ranked 4th worldwide for its Financial Markets program.
This special event was hosted by H.E. Mr Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, along with Dr Bertrand de Hartingh, Cultural Counsellor and Director - IFI, and Ms Sophie Simard, Head of International Admissions at EDHEC, on Tuesday, 5th July, at the Residence of France.
Several Indian students who have been honored with EDHEC’s Institutional Scholarships, Charpak Scholarship of the French embassy were also present for media interviews. This includes Finance Academician and Associate Professor Chinmay Chopade, who has been granted the co-financed EDHEC-French Embassy in India Scholarship. Mr Chopade thus received a 100% tuition waiver when he joins the school’s prestigious MSc in Financial Markets program. Having a scholarship from the French Government also ensure he has a visa fee waiver, medical coverage and assistance in securing affordable accommodation in France.
This event is in line with the thrust the French Embassy is giving to Indian students’ mobility to France. Thus, the number of French scholarships has been increased from 320 to 380 in 2016.
The collaboration between the French Embassy and French institutions and companies plays an important role in providing co-funded scholarships, EDHEC being part of such endeavors.
The co-financed EDHEC-French Embassy of India Scholarship was established in 2014 and is awarded to an Indian student with an excellent academic record, who qualifies for admission to EDHEC’s MSc programs, including specializations in Marketing Management, International Accounting & Finance, and Strategy & Organization Consultancy, among others. The scholarship is roughly valued at 21,500 euros and includes a visa fee waiver, health and medical coverage and access to student housing.
