Postcards from Paris: a Tribute to France by Young India, 24 July 2013

DPS International - Saket organized “Postcards from Paris”, an event showcasing France and celebrating French culture in all its richness and diversity. On this occasion, more than 20 Delhi Public Schools of the NCR region and several other Delhi schools were invited to a variety of competitions focusing on France, drawing a total of 300 participants.

The Highlights of “Postcards from Paris” were the dance, poster making, solo song, and poetry competitions, as well as a quiz on France at different venues of the school campus.

Another exciting aspect of the event were the exhibitions on life in France, famous French personalities, France down the ages, monuments and architecture, the French experience. This ranged from the country’s geographical features, a day in the life of a French child, art, culture, literature, music, slices of French history (from the Renaissance to the French Revolution), fashion, sports, festivals, cinema, science and technology in France, to the role of France in Europe, and Indo-French relations,

Besides these contests and exhibitions, the participating students put up stalls in the school lawns displaying the history and culture of various Francophone countries. The evening concluded with a Prize Distribution ceremony.
