Meeting between the Consul general and Hon’ble Governor of Goa
On Monday, May 20th, Ms. Sonia Barbry, Consul general of France in Bombay, called on Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Mrs Mridula Sinha. Ms. Barbry briefed her Excellency on recent and future cooperation projects between France and Goa.
She first recalled the Varuna naval exercice between French and Indian navies, which took place earlier this month, then informed her about the ongoing French Regional Summer University taking place in the University of Goa: one week of training for 130 French teachers from several countries of South Asia. She also informed the Governor about the French investment conclave, which will probably take place in the fall, in order to bring more French companies to Goa.
Coming to know about Ms Barbry’s studies in Varanasi and her degree in Hindi literature and South Asia civilization, Mrs Sinha offered her two of her books, which are collections of short stories written in Hindi. To conclude the meeting. Ms. Barbry was offered a tour of Goa’s Raj Bhavan.
