Official visit of Ambassador Richier to Kolkata
The Ambassador of France to India, H.E. Mr. François Richier, paid a three-day visit to Kolkata from 15th December evening till the 18th December 2014. This trip was his second such tour of the State to expand the scope of Indo-French cooperation and develop joint, forward-looking projects in various fields, notably economic exchanges, tourism, social initiatives and culture.

Ambassador Richier was joined by Mr. Fabrice Etienne, Consul General of France in Kolkata, Mr. Dominique Frachon, Director, Invest in France Agency, and Mr. Rodolphe Monnet, Social Counsellor at the Embassy of France in New Delhi, during this tour.
The Ambassador H.E. Mr. Richier looked forward to diverse engagements, including meetings with H.E. Mr. K. N. Tripathi, Governor West Bengal, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee, senior members of the Cabinet in the West Bengal Government, including the Hon. Ministers of State, Mr. Amit Mitra, Mr. Manish Gupta, Mr. Firhad Hakim, some of the proactive members of the Chambers of Commerce and other officials in areas of collaborative interest.
These sessions with various business and thought leaders, academicians, social entrepreneurs, and members of the media, were a stepping-stone to opening channels of dialogue for future investments, exchanges and visits across the board to facilitate growth for both economies in question.
