Indo-French Foreign Office Consultations
Paris, 17 June 2013

Mr Laurent Fabius, French Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Mr Ranjan Mathai, Foreign Secretary - Indian Ministry of External Affairs, on the occasion of the annual Indo-French Foreign Office consultations, co-chaired by Mr Pierre Sellal, Secretary General - French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his Indian counterpart, on June 17th.

These consultations reaffirmed the excellent Indo-French relations, based on a strategic partnership, the great importance of which was recalled by the President of the French Republic during his State visit to India on 14-15 February 2013.

The consultations served to review the actions undertaken with regard to the four cornerstones of the strategic partnership: defence, civilian nuclear energy, space and counter-terrorism. They were also the opportunity to discuss the prospects for enhancing trade and investments, our scientific, university and cultural cooperation, as well as major international issues.
