MBDA-ISAE scholarships for Indian students
For the second year, a group of Indian students was awarded scholarships under the MBDA Programme of Excellence to follow a two-year Master’s programme at the prestigious French aerospace university, Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (ISAE), situated in Toulouse, southern France.

In December 2013, MBDA signed a sponsorship agreement with the ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation and ISAE, thereby setting up the Indian scholarship programme.
For the eight brilliant students who were selected to begin their ISAE Master’s programme in September 2015, a reception took place in the presence of H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, on Monday, 18th May 2015 at the Residence of France.
On successfully completing their studies, the students will be awarded an internationally recognised MSc in Aerospace, Mechanics and Avionics. The eight students - graduates aged between 21 and 23 from various Indian institutions of higher education - were selected by an admissions panel constituted and administered independently by the ISAE. In 2016, a third batch of eight students will be selected for the MBDA scholarship programme.
Loïc Piedevache, MBDA Country Head India, says: “This is the second intake of Indian students who have been selected to benefit from the MBDA bursary to study at the prestigious ISAE/SUPAERO in Toulouse, France. The first group of students are already well advanced in their studies and are not only honing their skills but also enjoying mixing with students from around the world who share their passion for aeronautical technology. MBDA recognizes the need to develop young talent because it is with the youth of today that the future of any country lies. These young students will go on to receive the very best of academic training, which will prepare them to contribute significantly to India’s future in both technology and business. As a longstanding and proud partner of India, MBDA is delighted to be involved in this important educational programme.”

These activities are structured around five objectives: encouraging the development and advance of aerospace research, enhancing teaching tools, developing the entrepreneurial skills of the students, supporting the international mobility of faculty members and students, and promoting the social openness strategy of ISAE.
The Embassy of France in India runs several scholarship programmes at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels for Indian students in France. Under its flagship Charpak scholarship programme, more than 300 Indian students will get substantial financial assistance to study in France in 201s as research interns, exchange students, or full-time degree students. The funding of the yearly scholarship programmes is on the rise (1.2 million euros in 2014) and reflects the sharp increase of the Indian student population in France. More than 2800 young Indians chose France as a destination for their higher education in 2013.
The Embassy of France is proud to join efforts with corporate partners to encourage Indian students to enrol in the country’s best institutes, such as ISAE.
