Lecture-cum-interactive session on Climate Change by French Ambassador François Richier.
New Delhi, 29 October 2015
In the lead-up to the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21) in December this year, H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, conducted a lecture-cum-interactive session, hosted by IIT Delhi, on:
"Paris Climate Conference: an opportunity to foster clean-tech and innovation partnerships for sustainable growth".
Ambassador Richier outlined how the Paris Climate Change Conference aims at spurring a global movement for technology partnerships that will involve all stakeholders, from private businesses to academic and research institutions.
Technology is one of the key subjects of the ongoing climate change negotiation process. Innovation is one of the factors that will help us to tackle effectively the climate change challenge, and also the primary driver of growth in the long run. Hence, fostering bilateral and multilateral partnerships is central to ensuring wide dissemination of existing technologies to address the issue of climate change and sustainable economic development.
