New Delhi, 15 November 2010
A delegation of fifteen French schools and universities will be on a 5-day visit to India to promote French language courses in France. The “Learn French in France!” tour organized by the Embassy of France in India and CampusFrance India, will take place from 15th to 19th November 2010 in the cities of Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
Mr Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador of France to India, will introduce the institutional meetings between the representatives of the French language training centres, and principals and French teachers of schools in India.
During the visit, the 15 French language learning centres are also scheduled to meet Heads of French Departments and French professors, along with principals of various higher secondary schools, colleges and universities, as well as Indian students keen to improve their proficiency in French by studying the language in France.
The 15 French schools will be touring in India with the objectives of presenting the programs that the French language learning centres offer and discovering the possible ways of establishing exchanges and collaborating with French language departments in Indian institutes.
France ranks third globally in hosting foreign students. Today, there are around 260 000 foreign students in France, Indian students accounting for 1745 of them. (www.india-campusfrance.org)
