Iraq – Scaling up of our humanitarian assistance
9 September 2014
Since Laurent Fabius’s visit to Baghdad and Erbil on August 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development has chartered 3 humanitarian flights to Iraqi Kurdistan.
It has thus been possible to transport more than 58 tons of cargo (tents, blankets, jerry cans, cooking kits, water pumps, water tanks, food supplements) to Erbil.
France is continuing its humanitarian action in Iraq and will charter a plane carrying 18 tons of equipment (1 ton of medicines and 17 tons of basic necessities) in the next few days.
Following the arrival of an initial group of Iraqi refugees in France on August 21, further refugees will arrive in our country this week.
