During the visit, they commended the efforts made by the NGO supported by the charitable association of French women of Delhi, Main Tendue, but could also assess the number of women who had gained autonomy and acquired a spirit of enterprise, thanks to the professional training. The Embassy of France and the city of Beauvais will provide material support to the development of their activities.

This NGO imparts professional training to young women from underprivileged sections aged between 18-25 years, so that they may be able to have the personal and educational means for obtaining a job. This centre conducts classes on sewing, information technology and cooking for more than 20 women. Created in 2007, the NGO has trained 580 women.

At a time when violence against women is a reality throughout the world and where all the means have to be put into place for assuring their security and their liberty, the Embassy of France in India is actively engaged and seeks to combine its action with that of the civil society.
