India-EU SI House Brainstorming Roundtable

The India SI House, also known as the India-EU Joint House for Science and Innovation met on the 13th of September 2013 at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, India. The key agenda for the meet was to have a brainstorming session on shaping an Indo-European platform for encouraging research and innovation multi-dimensionally, say networking, projects, mobility, Public-Private-Partnerships (PPP), etc.

The session was opened by the Consul General of France, M. Eric Lavertu. It was further spearheaded by Dr. Veronique Briquet-Laugier, Science & Technology Counsellor, French Embassy in India, who introduced the EU-India SI House feasibility study.

The active participant list includes: Dr Bernard Barraque, Research Director, CNRS; Jai Ganesh, Principal Research Scientist, Infosys Technologies Ltd.; Subu Goparaju, Senior Vice-President, Head Infosys Labs; N Shantha Mohan, Visiting Professor, NIAS; Mohandas Pai, EAB member / Chairman of Manipal Global Education; Ashwin Raguraman, COO, India Innovation Fund; Govindan Rangarajan, Director of International Relations & Professor of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Taslimarif Saiyed, Director & COO, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP); and Anand Tanikella, Managing Director, Saint-Gobain Research India Ltd.

The other observers included Sean Angiolillo, Head Research Projects, IndoGenius Talents Private Ltd.; Hardip Grewal, Policy Analyst, EU-India SI House Feasibility Study; and Dr. Jenifer Clark, Science Attaché, and Mr. Gurjot Sachdeva, Scientific Coordinator both from the Scientific Services, French Embassy – Bangalore, India.
