20th February 2014, Mumbai: The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) organized a round table on ‘China, Africa: challenges and opportunities for India’ at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach.
In the 20th century Europe was a strong leader but things are changing: Africa is clearly the largest continent of the world and has 1.1 billion inhabitants. China is becoming a rich country and won’t be interested to produce cheap products anymore and India has important natural resources to operate (oil, gas).
In terms of economy two thirds of the global economy takes place in China, India and Africa. China clearly is the engine and has become the first exporter to India. Africa is in the middle of this world: between America, Europe and Asia.
To conclude, according to J.J Boillot, one of the key speakers, the 23th century will be the Asia century.
