Hello Tomorrow 2017 Edition
Hello Tomorrow, the international organisation fast becoming the reference in deep tech, launches its Global Challenge today. The Challenge, now in its 4th edition, is an international competition, open to both infant and mature stage deep-tech startups, which aims to propel promising disruptive technology from the lab and into the world.
Hello Tomorrow launches its 2017 edition for the 4th consecutive year. Aiming at bringing together all stakeholders committed to building the future with the help of sciences and cutting-edge technology, Hello Tomorrow scouts out each year for start-ups with impactful projects and connects them with entrepreneurs, industrials, and investors to bring about disruptive innovation.
Hello Tomorrow focusses this year on deep tech start-ups: start-ups that rely on complex technologies that require a long R&D period. For this reason, deep tech start-ups are confronted with increased challenges regarding capital investments, expertise sourcing, support for industrial applications, or marketing strategies.
Publication of a report on deep tech start-ups
In regards of these particular challenges, large companies seem to be the only actors able to tackle them by partnering with deep tech start-ups. This is one of the findings of a newly-published report by Hello Tomorrow and BCG, which confirms that 97% of the start-ups surveyed in the study wish to develop a partnership with a large company. Building on this fact, Hello Tomorrow acts as a platform to support entrepreneurs and help them in their development by connecting them with industrial partners and investors.
Hello Tomorrow Challenge 2017
Organised every year since 2014, the 2017 edition of the Hello Tomorrow Challenge will be the very first international competition dedicated to deep tech start-ups. Candidates can already submit their application on the Hello Tomorrow website. Start-ups can apply in 10 different categories: healthcare, data and artificial intelligence, energy transition, well-being, environment, industry 4.0, food and agriculture, mobility, new materials, and aerospace. The best 500 projects will be selected and the results will be announced on July 1st, 2017. Laureates in each category will be announced on September 1st, 2017.
The 500 selected start-ups will be invited for the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit, to be held in Paris in October; and finalists in each category will receive a prize of € 15,000, while the winner of the grand prize will receive €100,000.

Hello Tomorrow international conferences
Hello Tomorrow also draws its strength from a network of HT Ambassadors all over the world, who are mobilised to carry abroad the values and missions of the organisation, and constitute local hubs to help deep tech entrepreneurs develop their projects. This year, they will be initiating several events, in different cities, including one of ‘The Future of Mobility’ to be held in Bangalore on 29th July 2017.
