Future Tour on “SMART CITIES: URBAN PLANNING, ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN”
The Future Tour is a series of thematic rendezvous between scientists, academicians, companies and students from India and France. This program connects Indian students directly with French companies and universities, while gathering researchers and scholars for scientific workshops. In addition, it gives enterprises a platform to express their needs in a rapidly changing economy.
The last step of Future Tour – Smart cities, Urban planning, Architecture & Design was organized at Institute of Architecture & Planning, Nirma University, Ahmedabad on 24th and 25th February, 2018. The first day brought together experts from academia and enterprises, researchers, architects and experts of town planning and urbanism around 6 thematic round tables like multi-modal mobility, heritage and architecture and sustainable planning. The recommendations of these round tables were then compiled and showcased at the 2 day Knowledge Summit, a high-level Indo-French summit on higher education, research and innovation on 10th and 11th March in New Delhi coinciding with the visit of the President of France H.E. Emmanuel Macron, which laid out the roadmap for Indo-French collaboration for the next decade.
The second day was dedicated for students to meet one-on-one with representatives from French institutions to learn about study opportunities and the French higher education system. This Future Tour has begun an interesting dialogue between Indian and French partners for several years to come.
