French presence at the 15th Mumbai Film Festival, 17-24 October 2013 [fr]

The Mumbai Film Festival, an event initiated by Reliance Entertainment, will screen around thirty French films during its 15th edition.

This year, the Festival will honour Costa Gavras with the prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award" during the opening ceremony, and a retrospective of his films will be screened.

French actress Nathalie Baye will be present in Mumbai as a member of the International Jury, which will be chaired by Bruce Beresford.

French filmmaker Leos Carax, whose films have been particularly appreciated by the young Indian generation, will host a meeting / master class and present three of his films during the Festival.

Last, but not the least, the sixth “Rendez-vous with French Cinema” will be inaugurated on Friday, October 18 with the screening of François Ozon’s "Young and Beautiful".

The Embassy of France in India, Institut Français and Unifrance are delighted to support Mumbai Film Festival, a premier film event in India in terms of cinema attendance, quality programming and involvement of Indian and foreign professionals of the film industry.
