French Ambassador’s Travel Awards 2018

Jaipur hosts Atout France’s biggest B2B showcase Experience France and the Prestigious Ambassador’s Travel Awards.

Jaipur, 7 October 2018

Atout France - France Tourism Development Agency organised two of its mega events in Jaipur early October. Its flagship event, the annual B2B showcase "Experience France" took place at the Fairmont Jaipur this year. The second edition of this offsite was the biggest in terms of supplier presence with an unprecedented number of 32 French travel companies being represented at the showcase. A total of 87 travel agents attended the event over a span of 3 days allowing for over 1700 one-to-one meetings with the visiting delegates. The delegation comprised of a versatile mix of airline companies, hoteliers, DMCS and regional tourism bodies which ensured a holistic representation of destination France. A selection of thematic soirées ranging from Indian themed events to the France of the 20’s allowed for interactive exchanges between agents and suppliers.

The Ambassador’s Travel Awards

The 4th edition of the Ambassador’s Travel Awards took place in the magnificent setting of the Sujan Rajmahal Palace -member of Relais & Chateaux in Jaipur on 8th October. Under the high patronage of the Ambassador of France to India and in partnership with VFS Global, these prestigious awards were instated in 2015 with the objective of recognising and rewarding a selection of travel agents across India for their exemplary efforts in showcasing France as a travel destination both from the itinerary and visa perspective and the prolific penmanship of a journalist who, through their articles, has essayed a versatile presentation of destination France. The winners for this year included:

VISA Category

  • Gold Award - Runner Up Award for the tour operator that has registered the highest number of visa deliverances for 2018
    Winner: Thomas Cook India Ltd
    Prize: A 2 night stay for 2 in Chamonix Mont-Blanc which includes accommodation at the Terminal Neige- Refuge du Montenvers, 2 day lift passes offered by the Compagnie du Mont Blanc and a signature fragrance by M.Micallef.
  • Diamond Award- Winner for the tour operator that has registered the highest number of visa issuances for 2018
    Winner: Cox and Kings Ltd
    Prize: A 6 night stay in Occitanie Sud de France including a 2 night stay in Toulouse with a city tour, a 2 night stay in Lourdes Pyrenees and a 2 night stay in Nimes with 2 monument passes, entry tickets to the Musee de la Romanité and a premium fragrance from M.Micallef perfumes.

  • Diamond Award - Best Showcase of France as a Romantic Destination
    Winner: Veena World
    Prize: An 2 night stay for 2 at the Saint James Paris with a VIP welcome, an invitation to the Paradis Latin for a dinner show, a visit of the Grévin Wax Museum with lunch at the Café Grévin and a dinner cruise on the Bateaux Parisiens

Best Journalist Award

    Prize: A stay for two that includes 2 business class tickets on Jet Airways and a Eurail Pass compliments of Rail Europe. A 3 night stay at Paris Marriott Champs Elysees Hotel and an invitation to a dinner show at the Lido de Paris.
    A 1night stay in Lisieux at the Grand Hotel de l’Esperance compliments of the Lisieux Tourist Office, a 1 night stay at the Resort Barrière Deauville, a 3 nights stay at the Royal Evian Resort-Members of the Leading Hotels of the World and a signature fragrance from M.Micallef
