France bestows “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” on Prshant Lahoti, 22 January 2013 [fr]

Ambassador of France to India, Mr. François Richier confers the award of the “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” on Mr. Prshant Lahoti.

H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India gave away the award to Mr Lahoti at the ceremony organized the the Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad on Tuesday, the 22nd of January 2013.


Mr Lahoti owns Kalakriti art gallery in Hydereabad, a gallery that showcases works of artists from around the world. He also organizes Krishnakriti festival of Art and Culture, an annual festival in memory of his father, late Mr Krishnachandra B Lahoti.

Kalakriti Art Gallery was among the first to partner the maiden edition of Bonjour India festival. He has been invited to France for a sojourn of meetings with prestigious cultural institutions and has participated in privileged exchanges and encounters at the FIAC international contemporary art fair in Paris.

Krishnakriti Foundation offers scholarships to Indian youths to study art and design in France’s grandes écoles.

Some noted Indian recipients of this honour in the past include
Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachan, Sivaji Ganesan, M. Balamuralikrishna, Ritu Beri and Nandita Das.

Mr. Lahoti was accompanied by his family and friends at the ceremony.
