The Invest in France Agency was established under the New Economic Measures Law of May 15, 2001. The Agency is responsible for encouraging long-term international investment & reports to the Minister for the Economy, Finance & Industry & to the Minister of Regional Development.

Trade Commissions in India

- The Trade Commission of the French Embassy in India is dedicated to assist French companies in their business development and investment projects.

- Our key mission is to facilitate access to the Indian market by providing the French companies with a complete range of services and tools starting from market analysis to implementation.

- In India, a multicultural team located in the four business hubs, New Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore and Chennai including a Press Office are devoted to facilitate the Business to Business trade relations between India & France.

- What are our services aimed at French companies?
- Help them to target and identify the right business opportunities with detailed information and analysis on market organisation and access.
- Organise their participation in trade fairs and promotional events to put them in touch with the potential clients, importers/ distributors and partners.

And 2011 will be a major year for us as India will be the "Focus Country", we plan to launch more than 40 operations.

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), created in 1977, is a leading bi-lateral business Chamber whose 450 odd active members comprise of French and Indian companies from various sectors of activity mainly across India. There are 3 chapters in India, in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. The main activities of the Chamber are to propose networking events to the Indo-French business community, offer regular publications to its members, and propose commercial services, including a nursery, to French and Indian companies wishing to develop their activities in India and France respectively.

Indo-French Technical Association (I-FTA) members are Indian professionals, most of whom have attended long term training programme in France. Many I-FTA members hold responsible and influential positions in the Indian government & companies.

The decision to create I-FTA was taken in 1965 at a meeting of engineers & technologists who were trained in France under the aegis of ASTEF (Association pour l’organisation des Stages en France) which later became ACTIM, Cfme-Actim and then UBIFrance. The Association was formally registered on February 18, 1966 at Mumbai.

The objective of this non-profit association is the promotion of Scientific, Technical, Cultural & Educational activities that could be helpful in developing co-operation between France & India. I-FTA has its Head Office at Mumbai & also a network of six Chapters at New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehra Dun & Pilani. At present the association has over 1400 members, of which about half are in Mumbai region. I-FTA also has about 10 corporate members.

I-FTA organize several events every year in India (hosting French and Indian Scientists for lectures in India, organizing seminars, symposia ...) In addition, the Association regularly publishes a Technical News Bulletin which gives a report of its activities & also about some new technological developments in France.
