Celebration of the French National day at The NewTown School, Kolkata

On the occasion of the French National Day, The Newtown School, Kolkata, held a programme where students learning French from classes 3 to 9 participated.

The Consul general of France in Kolkata, Mr. Damien Syed and the Attaché for cooperation in French Language with the French Institute in India, Ms Magosha Fréquelin, were present for the occasion.

The students performed classical children songs like “Promenons nous dans les bois” or “Il était un petit navire” as well as classical French Littérature like The Crow and the Fox from Jean de la Fontaine for the French delegates.

The Newtown School, Kolkata is the first IGBC certified Gold rated Green school in the country and students here learn French as one of the compulsory foreign languages.

So far over 100 students receive training in the French language at The Newtown School.
