Udaipur, 21 March 2016
On the occasion of the major global culinary event “Goût de France / Good France”, coinciding with the 3rd World Living Heritage Festival in Udaipur (19 - 23 March 2016), in which the domaine national de Chambord is participating, a dinner celebrating French gastronomy was hosted on Monday, 21st March 2016 at Manek Chowk, The City Palace, Udaipur.
This remarkable dinner was prepared by young Michelin-starred French chef Sébastien Sanjou, who works in the gourmet, fine-dining restaurant, “le Relais des Moines”, in Arcs-sur-Argens, southern France.
Mr Sanjou unveiled a vegetarian menu, specially conceived for this evening, accompanied by French wines, for Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, Chairman, HRH Group of Hotels, H.E. Mr François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, and attending guests. The dinner was served on the landscaped lawns of the Manek Chowk with the façade of the iconic City Palace forming a majestic backdrop.
This event forms part of the dynamic partnership developed between the City Palace of Udaipur and the domaine national de Chambord on the occasion of the visit to France of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2015, when these two outstanding institutions of India and France’s cultural and architectural heritage signed a twinning agreement. They are collaborating on a host of cultural activities with an aim to share knowledge, skills and experience with regard to conservation and preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
