Campus France 2015 Autumn Admission Tour

The Embassy of France in India and Campus France India (the French national agency for higher studies in France) are pleased to announce the 2015 Autumn Admission Tour in India.

This large-scale event will give hundreds of Indian students from all fields the opportunity to meet more than 20 top French Business and Engineering schools in 4 Indian cities: Bengaluru (1st Oct), Chennai (3rd Oct), Pune (5th Oct) and Kochi (7th Oct).

Students are invited to register on the following address and book their 20-minute individual interviews with the institutes of their choice. Registration is free and open to all.

Students will have the opportunity to interact with recruitment officers from top French institutions. Indian alumni will be present as well to share their experience of studying and living in France. During this Admission Tour, students will be informed about the different scholarships and support schemes (such as housing assistance) they may be eligible for. Furthermore, visa officers from the French Consulate will provide visa application guidelines, while Alliance Française representatives will present the French language courses on offer.

France is the third most preferred destination worldwide for international students and, increasingly, a favourite choice for Indian students. Over 3,000 Indian students studied in France in 2014, a figure that is expected to grow at double digit rates in the next few years. And France is keen to welcome more. To foster this trend, 5-year short-stay visas are granted to all Indian alumni of French institutes (past, present and future students, upon graduation) who hold a Master’s or any post-graduate degree. Graduates also have the opportunity to stay on in France for up to a year after completion of their course, to find employment in their area of specialisation.

In India as well there are many openings for Indian alumni with French degrees. More than 1,000 French companies have set up operations in India and are constantly on the lookout for young talents. These companies, which cover a broad spectrum of areas, today employ more than 3,00,000 skilled Indian employees across India, placing France as one of India’s leading economic partners. Indian students who have obtained a post-graduate degree in France can seek assistance in finding the companies most suitable for their qualifications and talents, via the India-France Job Opportunities Board, a network connecting such alumni and French companies and their subsidiaries in India.

Studying in France

France’s education and research systems are changing fast, embracing globalization. Paris was consistently voted in 2012, 2013 and 2014 as the best international student city by the QS team – no surprise considering the number of internationally-ranked institutions it harbours and the quality of living in the capital of France. Students often enjoy extensive access to leading academics, with small class sizes and intensive teaching, and that, too, at low fees. France is also a major gateway to Europe’s work and business culture. French engineering and business schools fare extremely well in European rankings. With their international faculty as well as student body, French institutes enable Indian students to develop their own international networks of contacts, while building a strong sense of European business culture. Furthermore, the barrier of language is no more: English is now widely used as a teaching medium and more than 1,000 courses taught in English are now available at the Master’s, and increasingly at the Bachelor’s level.
