Bastille day celebration in Kolkata
The French National Day was celebrated this year at the Taj Bengal Hotel, with the participation of around 400 Indian and French guests, all contributing to the excellence and the dynamism of the relationship between France and India. Mr. Debashis SEN, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Government of West Bengal, had accepted to be the Chief Guest. In his traditional speech, the Consul General of France, Mr. Fabrice ETIENNE, mentioned the various perspectives of cooperation opened by the official visit of Shri Narandra MODI, Prime Ministre of the Republic of India, to France last April, especially in the fields of climate change, urban development, trade, culture and academic exchanges. The invitees could enjoy French cuisine and French wine by the sound of a Franco-Indian jazz band. This evening was strongly supported by various partners, to which the Consulate General wishes to express its gratitude.
