Ambassador-designate of France to India, Mr Emmanuel Lenain undertakes maiden visit to Mumbai, attends IFCCI AGM graced by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and MSMEs.

The Ambassador-Designate of France to India, Mr Emmanuel Lenain, was on a two-day trip in Mumbai (20th - 21st September) to meet the French business community in India’s commercial capital.

On this occasion, he delivered the closing address of the Annual General Meeting of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), to which the Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, and MSMEs, Shri Nitin Gadkari, lent his presence. At the event, Mr Lenain underscored the excellence of Indo-French bilateral ties, driven by the personal rapport between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron. In this context, he urged Indian and French business executives to work towards further enhancing the volume of trade between the two countries.

In the course of this trip, Mr Lenain also met the staff of the Consulate General and visited the Lycée français international de Mumbai (French International School in Mumbai), accompanied by Ms Sonia Barbry, French Consul General in Mumbai. He interacted with students from various grades and toured the school, which recently moved in brand new facilities, is open to students of all nationalities and offers a bilingual study track.
