Ambassador Ziegler hosts a soirée celebrating “Befikre”

Ahead of the worldwide release of “Befikre” on 9th December, in collaboration with Yash Raj Films, H.E. Mr Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, co-hosted a very special soirée to celebrate Befikre with Ms Sanya Dhir, Creative Director-DIVA’NI, at the Residence of France in New Delhi, starring leads Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor.

Extensively shot in Paris as well as in Cannes and Picardie, Befikre is steeped in the Parisian spirit of romance and celebrates sensual, carefree love. Under the vision of Aditya Chopra, Chairman - Yash Raj Films and famous for his landmark romantic movies, Paris becomes synonymous with Befikre’s contemporary love story.

The Residence of France came alive with the spirit of Befikre as the vibrant evening saw Ranveer Singh and beautiful actress Vaani Kapoor give a scintillating performance to the film’s song, “Khulke Dulke”. The duo, dressed in exquisitely designed DIVA’NI couture, also sashayed down the ramp for the dazzling launch of “The Ivory Kiss”, Spring-Summer 2017 couture collection of DIVA’NI, which designed the actors’ costumes for the film also.

Partnered by Pullman Aerocity, Accor, Atout France and Air France, the soirée was an ode to the film and the French art de vivre that permeates it.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sanya Dhir, Creative Director, Diva’ni said, “It’s surreal how things just come together and make perfect sense. Befikre’s trailer launch took place at the Eiffel Tower, supported by the Mayor of Paris, on 10th October 2016, garnering over 10 million views in less than 24 hours on social media. France is a magnet for filmmakers with its very attractive film production incentive, TRIP (Tax Rebate for International Production), granted through the French Film Commission. TRIP supports non-French projects that are completely or partly made in France, involving French and European locations, characters, sources, landmarks, creators, crew and French technical hubs. The amount allocated comprises 30% of the film expenditure incurred in France. Thus, Befikre, shot almost entirely in France, benefited from this incentive.

Aiming to showcase a carefree comfortable bride, the models were spotted walking the ramp in exclusively designed Stan Smiths sneakers – embellished to give it that pure touch of glam.
