A significant turning point for the Alliance Française of Hyderabad
After 11 years of its existence in the twin city of Secunderabad, the Alliance Française of Hyderabad opens its new centre in a prime location in Banjara Hills.
Every floor has a specific function. The ground floor is reserved for a cafeteria and parking bays. The décor is original with a typical large rock of Hyderabad embellished with a fountain enhanced with two Hindu goddess figurines. The academic space is located on the first floor along with the reception, seven classrooms, the course director’s office and the teachers’ room. The second floor hosts a multimedia library, the CampusFrance desk and an administration office. The library has a separate children’s corner and three computers for public usage. The third floor is devoted completely to culture – an auditorium to host programmes and events, a conference room and an audio-visual space. The equipments would allow the Alliance Française to conduct workshops, organise seminars and also host programmes of other cultural centres associated with it, at a nominal cost.
Courtesy a famous architect, President of the Hyderabad Architecture Foundation, and friend of the Alliance Française, has designed the interiors of the building.
The new set up does not confine the growth of the institution : in order not to retain its association and growth in Secunderabad, a new office has been opened. A 5 room office space on the first floor of an old building allows us to continue to offer our courses in this part of the city as well.
The official inauguration by H. E. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of the Consul General of France, was held on Saturday 7th April 2012 : this has been the crowning moment in this new beginning.
