8th Annual Consultation Meeting, between AFD and DEA
New Delhi, 6 June, 2016
Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the financial institution for development in charge of implementing the technical and financial cooperation policy of the Government of France, and the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance of the Government of India, held their 8th Annual Consultation Meeting (ACM), on June 6th, 2016 in Delhi, at the invitation of the DEA.
The DEA delegation was led by Mr S. Selvakumar, Joint Secretary, while the AFD delegation was led by Mr Pascal Pacaut, Director - Asia Division, AFD Headquarters, Paris.
The consultations were conducted in a constructive atmosphere, stemming from the close and friendly relationship existing between the two institutions since 2008. The two delegations had a substantive and fruitful exchange of views on strategy, and held an in-depth review of AFD’s ongoing projects as well as future enterprises in India.
AFD’s strategy and activities in India are fully consistent with France and India’s joint actions to fight the adverse effects of climate change, in line with the COP21, and improve the liveability of Indian cities, under the Smart Cities Mission.
Since 2014, AFD’s financings have reached 775 million euros, in keeping with the significant commitments France made to India in 2014 and 2015.
