2012, the Year of India at St. Tropez
The city of St. Tropez has chosen 2012 as the Year of India and within this framework it has organised a number of events and programmes around the central theme of India. By doing this exercise, St. Tropez wishes to strengthen the relations that it has developed with India in the last few years.
The connection between St. Tropez and India goes all the way back to 1822 when the Tropezian General Jean-François Allard, Officer of the Napolean army, who was exiled to India, became the Commander-in-Chief of Mahrajah Ranjit Singh, king of Punjab.
