CampusFrance, in association with the French Embassy, the French Trade Commission and the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, organized a placement and recruitment fair with French companies holding long-term business interests in India, on 17th September 2008.
his Career Opportunities Fair was graced by the presence of Hon’ble French Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Mrs Anne-Marie Idrac, who addressed the students of MDI and the Indo-French Alumni Network on the prospects of European markets.
Major French companies in the Electronics, IT, Telecom, automobile, chemical engineering and retail sectors, including Thales, Renault, Altran, Steria, Air Liquide, Schneider Electric and Ségécé, are participating in the day-long career fair on 17th September for conducting campus recruitments.
MDI being a leading institute of management in India, is a special partner of the ESCP-EAP and the EDHEC, premier French Grandes Ecoles, renowned for their academic excellence the world over. The MDI sends over 70 students to France and receives over a dozen French students on campus annually. Many faculty members as well as several public sector employees, notably from the energy industry, also go on short duration specialist exchange programmes from MDI to ESCP-EAP.
The Career Opportunities Fair also brought together a select group of young !FAN members. !FAN is a network bringing together a rich talent pool of Indo-French Alumni who have been exposed to both cultures and have been trained at institutes of excellence in France and India.
The fact that French companies in India employ more than 42,000 employees and that this number is growing rapidly every year as more companies expand and diversify their presence in India is reflected in the fact that companies, such as THALES, ORANGE, ALTEN, and others, have come forward to offer co-financed corporate scholarships and are willing to associate themselves with CampusFrance for such endeavours.
