14th Mumbai Film Festival and 5th Rendez-vous with French Cinema
The 14th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) presented by Reliance Entertainment and American Express and organized by Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) showcased the best of contemporary French cinema and welcomed artists for the 5th edition of the Rendez-vous with French Cinema co-organized with the French Embassy in India and Unifrance films.
The MFF welcomed renowned French cinema personalities including Soko, the actress of the film "Augustine which was part of International competition, Jean-Paul Rouve, director and actor of "Twice upon a time", Carine Tardieu, director and Fabrice Goldstein, producer of "The Dandelions", Noëlle Deschamps, director of "Dreamers" and Michel Spinosa, scriptwriter of "Renoir" among numerous others in attendance.
Speaking about the association and the program, Jean-Raphaël Peytregnet, the Consul General of France in Bombay said “I strongly believe that the festival has obtained recognition at the national and international level and am glad that France represents 38 films at the festival. We are happy to have with us the presence of several film makers, actors and industry professionals this year.”
The special section “Rendez-vous with French cinema” wished to establish a platform for showcasing the various facets of French contemporary cinema, helping Indian distributors to promote new French films and celebrate the growing Indo-French ties.
